When I read Dave's blog entries, I realize how different our training can be. He's focusing on a goal of winning a triathalon while my version of "winning" is totally different. My winning is finishing strong -- maybe even at a time that's comperable to my marathon PR -- but that's still about an hour short of qualifying for Boston.
Today, I ran 16 with another woman who is also running to raise money for Prentice Hospital. We met at a local train station and set out for our run. I'm that annoying runner who likes to talk the whole time so I chatted this poor lady's ear off for over 2 hours. I guess I take the recommendation that you should be running at a pace that's comfortable for talking just a little too seriously.
For me, the run went very well. I ran at a pretty solid 10 min mile pace and never felt that I was pushing too hard. That allowed me to get home, shower and take my kids to a birthday party at 11:30.
(And, my running friend gave me great recommendations for a trip to Disney, a cheaper Keritan hair treatment and pre-run nutrition tips to avoid the running poops. It was a win-win.)

I found the site and came across your blog. You are too funny. It was a great run and I LOVED all of your stories. Would love to run again if schedules match up, let's keep in touch!
