The National Trust for Historic Preservation is helping people protect, enhance, and enjoy the places that matter to them through the "This Place Matters" campaign. Dolores McDonagh, vice president of membership for the National Trust, says, "We want people to know that we're protecting all kinds of humble places that speak to the lives of everyday Americans." (Country Living, May 2009.)
212 W. Maple matters because it is a piece of Libertyville's heritage.
It does matter!
Most important to our neighbors in "greater" Libertyville: Will your opinion matter? If the city council won't hear our plea, will they listen to you?

Yes, it does matter! As I've driven up Maple in the last few days, I've visualized how it might look if this beautiful old home was replaced by a hole, and the thought of it is truly troubling.

Good job, Jill and Eric! We really needed a picture of the Hanby/Garrison home on this site - and now we've got one.
Come to think of it, I think we could really use some different perspectives on this home, in addition to this one that is straight on from the street.
Also, very interesting information about the National Trust for Historic Preservation too!
