The kids and I made a big trip out to PA to visit my brother’s family. The kids haven’t seen each other in about a year and a half, which is a shame. They are close in age – Leo is just a few months younger than London and Phoebe is a few months older than Violet. I think they had a fabulous time together. In fact, London was unusually quiet on our trip home. When I asked him if he was feeling ok, he said that he missed Leo.
The trip was a last-minute idea. I had miles for London & me and Violet is not quite 2, so her ticket was free. That left only 1 ticket to buy. Unfortunately – just a few days after we bought the ticket – Barry had to cancel. I was a little nervous about flying alone with my passionate and daring children, but outside of one massively major meltdown during our descent into PA by Violet, the voyage was a breeze. (Note: travel with lollypops. Give them to the kids as you’re landing to help with their ears and to distract them. Be prepared with wipes if your children are like mine. Violet decided to rub the lollypop all over her face and then give me sticky kisses.)
We’ll have to make a bigger effort to get the kids together. They’re missing out on the whole “cousin experience” with Blu’s family in TX and mine in PA. (No – we’re not moving.) Guess they’ll just become little frequent fliers.
