I love this part of training! It's when I can say, "Yeah, we're only running 12 this week. Should be easy." I've been waiting to say that for a while.
Was it easy? No way. Maybe that's what I get for being so laissez-faire about the run. (aka Karma.) It wasn't bad, just harder than I anticipated. I was unusually quiet and running over some personal stuff in my head.f
I've started tracking what I eat in an effort to better understand food's affect on my runs. Friday night, I ate rice noodles with chicken, chinese cabbage, sesame ginger soy sauce and mushrooms. Eh, maybe not the best choice, but it was delicious. I'll try sticking with lean meats and some kind of carbs sans spicy stuff or toot-inducing stuff.
This week we ramp up again and we'll be running 18 on Saturday. Just writing it makes me a little sick with nervousness. It will be fine. (Using a few mental training tricks here by envisioning a successful finish.)
