Finding a supplement that works, and works just like it says is quite hard to find. With all of the marketing tools and ploys out there with sponsored spokespersons leading us down and endless road of misguided information, how do we honestly know what products are best for us? That is kind of a heavy question, but there are a few products out there I can put my stamp of approval on and would fully support anyone trying them to see how they interact as well.
One of those said products is the NEW Optygen HP by First Endurance.
Over the past few years I have written on and off about the products put out by First Endurance, and this is one brand that stakes it claims, backs it up and delivers. Today I will stick solely to the NEW Optygen HP product.
First Endurance claims that Optygen is a fatigue-fighting machine, helping you to hold on for longer and gives you the ability to not fade off. Something every athlete needs, right? Hell yes! And me, for one, am on board with these claims. One of the most beneficial ingredients found in Optygen HP is Rhodiola. An alternative medicine that has been claimed to fight cancer as well as fatigue. Cancer? Well, maybe not so much since the FDA has forcibly removed any product claiming to state such claims that contains Rhodiola. However, the fatigue-fighting benefits are there. What I caution you about before starting an Optygen HP regimen, though, is be ready for a slow and steady gain of endurance, not a quick jumpstart to the season to put you ahead.
Both times I have been using Optygen HP, it took me a good 10-14 days to fully notice the effects of it. And it doesn't come on as an onslaught on any given day, it slowly trickles into your system to give you more and more endurance energy. It doesn't give you a quick jolt to the system like a spike of caffeine and sugar does. It's an elongated phase of euphoria (kind of) while training. And even while using it.
Another benefit of using Optygen HP is it's ability to handle lactic acid. With high levels of Beta-Alanine, Optygen HP is able to buffer lactic acid in conjunction with carnosine. The added Beta-Alanine is vital since the body cannot produce enough to continue to produce carnosine to continue to buffer off the lactic acid effects. Basically, it makes you be able to go faster for longer.
Another key adaptation to the new formula is the addition of Cordyceps (CS-4), another supplement similar to that of Rhodiola. Naturally, learning that Cordycps is a fungus living on caterpillars, I was initially turned off from the idea. However, once collected, the fungus is replicalbe in labs, as in a more controlled environment. So maybe not quite as scary.
It's hard to write a pros/cons list for a product that works as well as this one does. It hits right on its marks as to what it claims. The label straight up says that it takes about 6 days to start working. If you're a bit bigger, may a bit longer, and vice versa if you're smaller. But the key is not to expect miracles. You've still got to put in the training and take care of your body. There is a reason these are called supplements. They are meant to supplement the proper way you should already be treating your body to recover and perform. Supplement, not replacment. Nothing replaces a proper diet, the right training for your sport and yourself and finally proper recovery.
Grab some Optygen HP here, give it a go around and see how it changes you and your training.
